The teacher plans instruction to support students in meeting the rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, Utah Core Standards, practices, and the community context.
Unit and Daily Lesson Plans
Creating unit and daily lesson plans based upon the common core gives students skills that are transferable to other content areas. In adapting lessons I teach to my students, I can increase or decrease pacing as needed to meet the needs of my students. I can plan for differentiation and for reteaching moments as I reflect upon assessments that are given as I teach.

Unit At A Glance (UAG) In creating a uag, it was useful in planning both short term projects and longer projects that student would be working on during the unit. This is useful in helping to create more detailed daily lessons that can be changed based upon prior days lessons, formative assessment, and upon the individual class needs. |

Daily Lesson Plan
Daily lesson plans give me a detailed outline of what I am going to teach, review of the core standards that are my focus within the lesson, and what I am using to assess student learning. Planning lessons that help students to demonstrate what they know and then for me to assess what they still need to know, helps me to adapt lessons, using pacing time frames, and making adjustment to lessons based on previous lessons. Daily lesson planning is a key to my success and that of my students. |
